The Design
“Bouncy, squishy, woolly.”
Cozily clever, these fingerless mitts—a free pattern—knit up in a jiffy! The knit two, purl one ribbing is worked in the round, interrupted only by the button-hole-style thumb opening. It’s easy to make these mitts as long as you like. And if you fancy a different look, simply turn them inside out—they’re entirely reversible! The K2/P1 ribbing flips around to become a K1/P2 ribbing.
We knit these Reversible Knitting Mitts using Brooklyn Tweed . This chunky-weight, worsted-spun yarn is composed of 7 plies of pure, 23.5-micron Targhee fleece sourced in Montana and South Dakota. That round, snugly spun strand creates a firm, well-structured fabric with plenty of woolly softness. And wow, that crisp stitch definition! Delightful in the ribbing of our mitts.
